How to Butter and Flour a Pan
Buttering and flouring a pan is a technique used to prevent food from sticking making it easier to unmold cakes for a more appealing end product. Start with a clean and cry baking pan. Using a piece of parchment paper, spread a thin layer of room temperature butter over the bottom and sides of the pan. For an eco-friendly option you can save your butter wrappers in the fridge and use them to lightly butter baking pans. Sprinkle in some all-purpose flour and gently tap and shake the pan ensuring that the entire bottom and sides of the pan get a light coating of flour. Invert the pan to remove any removing flour, add your batter and bake.
