Grilled Cheese with Asparagus and Honey Mustard Sauce

2 grilled cheese sandwiches


INGREDIENTS

  • Butter at room temperature, for cooking
  • 8 to 10 asparagus spears
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 4 slices bread
  • 4 slices cheddar cheese
  • 4 slices Gruyère cheese
  • 4 slices fontina or mozzarella cheese

 

Honey mustard sauce

  • 1 tbsp. whole-grain mustard
  • 1 tbsp. Dijon mustard
  • 1 tbsp. honey

  • Butter at room temperature, for cooking
  • 8 to 10 asparagus spears

  • 4 slices cheddar cheese
  • 4 slices Gruyère cheese
  • 4 slices fontina or mozzarella cheese

 

Honey mustard sauce

  • 1 tbsp. whole-grain mustard
  • 1 tbsp. Dijon mustard
  • 1 tbsp. honey

EQUIPMENT

INSTRUCTIONS

Melt 1 tablespoon of butter in the Square Skillet Grill over medium heat, then grill the asparagus for 3 to 4 minutes until cooked but still firm. Set aside.

In a small bowl, mix all “sauce” ingredients, then spread on each slice of bread.

Top 2 slices of bread with half the cheese, cover with 4 or 5 grilled asparagus spears, then add the rest of the cheese. Close the sandwiches with the remaining slices of bread, then spread the surface of the bread with the butter.

In the same Skillet, over medium heat, place the sandwiches butter-side down. While the sandwiches are cooking, spread the remaining butter on the other side. Turn the sandwiches over when they are nicely toasted, then cook the other side for a few minutes. Cut in half to serve.
