How to Make a Pizza

Round Dutch Oven

1. Make the dough

At the base of any great pizza, is both literally and figurately, the crust. Making pizza dough is quite simple and involves very few ingredients.

Prepare the pizza dough in advance and store it in the fridge for a few days or in the freezer for up to 3 months.

Ingredients

  • 1 tbsp active dry yeast
  • ½ tsp sugar
  • 1 ½ warm water
  • 4 cups ‘00’ flour
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tsp kosher salt

2. Prepare the sauce

Now that you have the dough set, the next step is creating a fresh and bright marinara sauce. Since the sauce comes together so quickly and with so few ingredients, choosing the best goes a long a way.

4. Bake the pizza

When it comes to actually baking your pizza, you can also experiment with different materials and shapes. Opt for a Cast Iron Skillet if you want a deeper crust with extra browning. Want to feed a crowd? Try our Large Sheet Pan for an easy to share meal. Or, keep it classic with our perforated round Pizza Pan that will get you a perfectly crisp bottom and tender crust.

For an extra crisp crust, precook the pizza dough for 5-10 minutes. Finish baking with your toppings and enjoy!
