Setting a beautiful table is arguably just as important as the meal itself! Learn how to set a table that makes any ordinary night feel special. Whether it's a weeknight family meal or gathering with close friends, setting a colourful table will create a memorable backdrop for your best recipes.

1. THE OUTSIDE RULE

You should always work your way from the outside in (towards your plate) when it comes to the utensils you use.

2. CENTERPIECES

If you want to add a decorative piece to the table, be mindful of its height to make sure no one's view is blocked off! Consider a pitcher with fresh flowers or a detailed trivet with your colourful French Oven.

3. UTENSILS

When you're done with your meal, place utensils diagonally and together facing four o'clock.

4.PLACE SETTINGS

If you forget which side your plate or glass is, use the BMW rule. Bread is on the left, Meal is in the middle and Water is on the right.

5. FINGER FOODS

Here is a list of generally accepted foods to be eaten with your fingers:

  • Bread
