There are several ways to thicken a sauce the easiest of which is to simply let it cook until reduced. However, when time is short a sauce can be thickened with just flour or cornstarch mixed with water here's how to do it. With your sauce prepared in a saucepan ready to be thickened, make a slurry by combining a tablespoon of flour or cornstach with one or two tablespoons of water and mix until smooth. With the sauce on medium heat add the slurry and stir if it becomes clumpy whisk until smooth continue to heat stirring regularly until the sauce reaches the desired consistency make and add more slurry if necessary then serve!
