How to Sear and Baste Steak
Start by seasoning your steak and leaving it to come to room temperature. Drizzle neutral oil in a Le Creuset Iron Handle Skillet and heat on medium. Once hot, place the steak on the skillet to sear for five minutes until the meat is crusty and caramelized on the bottom. Then, it's ready to turn over with the help of tongs. Add herbs like rosemary or thyme along with gaalic and butter . Tilt the pan towards you (use a glove or handle cover!) and using a spoon, quickly pour butter over the meat as it cooks. Continue until the steak is medium rare - about five to seven minutes. Remove and rest for 10 minutes before serving.
