Our Savoury Fig Quick Bread is a fun recipe to experiment with baking, offering a warm side for a brunch or lunch. Sweet, and savoury this quick-bread comes together in one bowl and can be served as is right at the table.
While this recipe was created for the OvalDish, a metal loaf tin can also be used. The durable stoneware and smooth glaze of the Oval dish help the bread cook evenly and make it easy to serve out slices. An excellent retainer of heat, our Oval Dish will keep the bread warm at the table once it’s out of the oven.

The combination of dried figs and honey paired with the fragrant sage, make it a delicious addition to the menu. This recipe takes just over an hour to prepare, offering between six and eight portions at a time. Be sure to grab all the ingredients you need and follow the steps below before tackling this recipe.
INSTRUCTIONS
Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease an oval stoneware dish.
In a medium bowl, toss figs with balsamic vinegar. Cover with hot water and let stand at least 10 minutes. Drain.
In a large bowl, whisk together dry ingredients. Beat the egg and add to the dry ingredients, along with club soda, honey and 3 1/2 tablespoons melted butter. Mix until just combined. Stir in the figs and sage.
Pour the batter into the dish and bake 25 minutes. Rotate the dish and brush the bread with the remaining melted butter. Bake an additional 20 – 25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Let cool slightly on a rack before serving
