Pizza with cheese, lemon & fresh herbs

INGREDIENTS

  • A drizzle of olive oil
  • 1 (800 g) store-bought pizza dough
  • ¼ cup pesto
  • ¼ cup Parmesan cheese, grated
  • 1 tbsp. sesame seeds
  • A pinch of chili flakes
  • 1 scoop (227gr) buffalo mozzarella, sliced
  • 150 g provolone cheese, sliced
  • Half a lemon, finely chopped
  • 1 shallot, minced
  • A few sprigs of fresh oregano
  • A handful of fresh basil leaves
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • A drizzle of honey

EQUIPMENT

INSTRUCTIONS

Preheat the barbecue or pizza oven to around 450 F (232 C) and place the rack at the bottom. Oil a Round Pizza Pan from the Alpine Outdoor Collection, then set aside.

Roll out pizza dough on pizza pan, brush with pesto and sprinkle with Parmesan, sesame seeds and chili flakes.

Add mozzarella and provolone slices, then garnish with lemon slices, shallot and herbs. Season with salt and pepper.

Bake for 18 to 20 minutes or until crust is golden brown and crisp. Remove from barbecue or pizza oven and drizzle with honey, top with a few more basil leaves to serve.
