INSTRUCTIONS
Open the package of tofu and drain any water from the package.
Press the tofu between two sheets of paper towel to remove any remaining liquid.
Cut the tofu into cubes then place in a bowl with the tamari, garlic powder, onion powder and pepper. Toss until the tofu is evenly coated, then let the tofu sit for 15 minutes to marinade.
While the tofu is marinating, add the cornstarch to a plate, beat the eggs in a shallow bowl, and add the panko to a large plate.
Once the tofu is marinated, dip each piece of tofu into the cornstarch, then into the beaten eggs, and then into the panko breadcrumbs. Make sure to press each piece of tofu firmly into the panko breadcrumbs on each side.
Fill the Rice Pot approximately halfway filled with vegetable oil and bring to 375 degrees.
Add the tofu cubes to the rice pot and deep-fry until golden brown, about 3-4 minutes. Make sure not to add too many pieces of tofu at a time so you don’t overcrowd the pot.
Remove the fried tofu cubes and place them on a plate.
Serve as is or over rice.
