RECIPE NOTES
What is a movie night without popcorn? Our Harry Potter™ Popcorn Party recipe gets its name from the piece of cookware it is prepared in, the Harry Potter Dutch Oven. Perfect for complementing your favorite movie night snacks, this recipe can quickly become a staple in your household.
The Round Dutch Oven is all you’ll need for this recipe, delivering flavourful popcorn in no time. This iconic piece of cookware comes equipped with a tight-fitting lid to lock in heat and moisture, ensuring the kernels pop without burning them. The Dutch Oven’s tall enamelled cast iron walls prevent splatter, offering a stress-free movie night for two.
Whether the whole family is gathering around for a Harry Potter marathon, or simply want to watch the latest episode of their favourite TV show, our Harry Potter™ Popcorn Party recipe has you covered. This recipe takes under 30 minutes to prepare, serving up to four people at a time. Be sure to set up a popcorn topping bar and take your movie night that extra step, featuring jelly beans, cheese, cinnamon sugar, and whatever else your guests may want atop their popcorn.
INSTRUCTIONS
Add 3 tablespoons high-heat oil to a French oven over medium-high heat.
Drop 3 test kernels in the oil, cover with the lid, and wait until you hear the kernels pop. Remove the test kernels once popped.
Add 1/3 cup kernels, cover, and shake the French oven occasionally to prevent burning. Reduce the heat to medium-low when you hear the kernels start to pop rapidly, and remove the pot from the heat when the popping slows to 2-3 seconds between pops
But why stop there? Make your movie night popcorn even more enchanting by setting up a popcorn topping bar. Set out bowls with various seasonings and toppings so chefs of all ages can create their own magical combinations.
