How to Make Jam
Whether it’s strawberry, blueberry or your favourite mix of berries, these mini casseroles are perfect for serving up jams and spreads of all kinds. Here’s how to prepare a basic jam recipe with the fruit of your choosing.
Ingredients
- 2 cups fruit of your choice (hulled and quartered, if necessary)
- 1 cup sugar
- ¼ cup lemon juice
Instructions
Place fruit in a large bowl and mash with a fork or potato masher. Transfer to a heavy-bottomed pot like a Dutch Oven. Add the sugar and lemon juice and stir to combine. Place the pot over medium-low heat and stir until the sugar is completely dissolved. Increase heat to medium and bring the mixture to a simmer. Simmer stirring frequently, until jam is reduced and thickened, about 20 minutes. Remove from the heat and skim the top of any foam.
